The red-roofed church in Vik is one of the more iconic buildings in Vik. After Dyrhólaey, we drove to the town of Vik to visit this church. We parked at the empty carpark and took the short walk up a hill to get to this vantage point. From here we could see the church and the streets and houses of Vik in the foreground. While in the background the sky was vibrant in the late afternoon light.
This is one of my favourite edited shots of Iceland so far and also one of my favourite photos I’ve created using HDR software Aurora HDR. At the time of taking this shot, I could visualise the final image I wanted. This spurred me on to climb the hill to get this shot. When processing in Aurora, I was aiming for a realistic HDR look as I remember at the time how colourful I thought everything was. Taking three exposures and combining it via Aurora has brought out my vision of the shot. If you are interested in giving HDR photography a good, Aurora is a great way to start given how easy it use to use. I’ve included this as part of my technocolour series (HDR).
Thanks for stopping by today.
