After lunch at Satchmo, we continued on checking out some residentials. First up was the Triangle House in Mt Lawley. I remember seeing it on the news many years ago when Open House first started up in Perth and have been keen to check it out since then. It’s known as the Triangle House due to the oddly shaped block of land. The architects did a great job utilising the space to make a one bed one bath home, with a relatively large living/entertaining area.
The Eco House was pretty cool, definitely had a retro hipster vibe to it. Concrete walls and lots of indoor plants. A modern twist what is reminiscent of 1960s interior design and architecture.
The last and probably my favourite residential we visited was The Stuart in Maylands. The living room was relatively small but well curated, from the hanging bicycle to the well place retro toys/artifacts surround the TV. The owners were clearly gin drinkers, as indicated by the cool little drinks trolley in the corner. The dining area opened up to the outdoor seating area, with a view of a small garden.
There were a couple of other places we would have like to have visited, but alas there is only so much time in the day. I’m looking forward to what next year’s Open House to offer (hopefully more architecturally interesting residentials) and might sign up to be a photographer volunteer. This concludes my 3 part photo essay covering Open House Perth 2017. Thanks for stopping by today.
