Given that one of my “dream jobs” was to be an architect, I’ve been meaning to check out Perth Open House. Every year when Perth Open House comes around, I always seem to have other plans. This year I made an intentional effort to find out which weekend it would fall on and made sure I made time for it. If you didn’t already know, Perth Open House occurs on a weekend in November, where private spaces such as people’s houses and iconic buildings are opened up to the public to explore. This year, there were over 90 destinations on the list. Many of which were located around Perth and Northbridge. West Perth and Leederville also had some great spaces.
Malacca (alternatively it can be spelt Melaka in Malay) is located towards the southern part of the west Malaysian peninsula, not too far from Singapore. It is another popular strait settlement in Malaysia, very similar to Penang island in the north. The city centre of Malacca is a historic site that has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site since 2008.
