The newly opened state-of-the-art City of Perth Library is a beautiful piece of architecture. It’s contemporary in design. There is plenty of space for people both inside and outside of the building. From rooftop open area reading areas to study rooms for students. The addition of the cafe on the ground floor is a nice touch for those who want to sit back with a cup of coffee while browsing the papers or magazines on offer.
Cathedral Square, the historic heart of Perth
Cathedral Square is one of the newly revitalised areas in Perth City. St George Cathedral, the new City of Perth Library, and State Buildings are amongst the more well known buildings. I enjoyed walking around the area and taking photos of these buildings. Architectural and urbanscape photography is still a favourite of mine. Perth really has come a long way in the last few years.
Experimenting with Fujifilm’s Macro and Pro-Zoom Lens
This is part two of the images I took at the Fujifilm photowalk at Matilda Bay Reserve in Crawley, organised by the good people at Camera Electronics. Part one focused on shooting wide angle shots. Part two features images taken with the hefty “pro zoom”, the Fujinon XF 16-55mm F2.8 lens and nifty Fujinon XF 60mm F2.4 lens.
Shooting wide with Fujifilm
Back in July, the cool people at Camera Electronics kindly organised a Fujifilm photowalk at Matilda Bay Reserve in Crawley. I didn’t do much walking and experimented plenty with the awesome Fujinon lenses. The camera shop and the rep from Fujifilm brought along a huge selection of Fujifilm camera bodies and lenses. I got a chance to try out a range finder style camera (i.e. the Fujifilm X100 series and the X-Pro series), which was pretty interesting, definitely takes some time getting used to! More importantly I got to play around with a few lenses I’ve been wanting to try out.
Ellis Brook Reserve, walking Sixty Foot Falls
The weather was beautiful and sunny the weekend that just passed. I can’t remember the last time we had great weekend weather. My friends and I made good use of the weather and drove out to Ellis Brook Reserve. Ellis Brook Reserve is located in Gosnells, 30 minutes away from Perth city by car.
