Moore and Moore Cafe in Fremantle is one of those places that have been around for a while. It’s in an unusual spot, down a walk way which opens up to an art gallery and a courtyard. After lunch at Don Tapas at The Mantle then shopping around Fremantle, we ducked into Moore and Moore Cafe for a coffee break in the afternoon. Also to shelter from the pelting rain.
Don Tapas at The Mantle in Fremantle
I heard about The Mantle in Fremantle a little while ago but never got a chance to check it out until recently. This cool little warehouse space houses several different pop up restaurants. Don Tapas is one of them and it looks to be its permanent home! The Mantle is located just a little bit outside of the heart of Fremantle. It is also home to the famous Short Order Burgers (that’s only open on certain days/nights) and a cool bar called Alter Ego, which is right next to Don Tapas.
Brunch at Frisch and Barc in Como
I seem to be hearing about a new cafe every week in Perth. I’m not one to complain that the Perth food scene is getting more and more interesting though. Frisch and Barc is one of the newer cafes that has popped up south of the river in Como.
Lunch at Hylin, West Leederville
I heard of this cafe called Hylin in West Leederville a couple of years ago but never made it until a few weeks ago. I’ve attempted to go a number of times when I was looking for somewhere to brunch, but it always seem to fall on a Sunday (which is the day Hylin is closed). As expected the place was packed when we arrived. We waited around 45 minutes before we finally got a tablet for three.
Good Food and Wine Show 2016
Every year the Good Food and Wine Show comes to Perth. This year was the first time I checked it out. I’ve always avoided it because the crowds are always insane. A friend of mine was keen to go again this year and I figured why not check it out for once. This year it was at the Perth Convention Centre. We purchased tickets for the Saturday session and headed in at 10am when the doors opened to beat the crowd.
