Gnomesvilles is located down south in Ferguson Valley. We paid it a visit a couple of weekends ago when we were down in Donnybrook for the weekend. It’s an unusual little place which became affectionately known as Gnomesville. There are literally thousands of gnomes of varying sizes.
The new Perth Optus Stadium
After years in the making, Perth finally opened it’s doors to our new stadium, Optus Stadium. It was a very warm Sunday afternoon when my family and I decided to check out the new stadium on open day. Public transport worked pretty well and the crowds were pretty well behaved. The stadium does look impressive up close and from a distance.
Fringe World Perth 2018 Opening Ceremony
Last Friday, I attended the official Fringe World Perth Festival opening ceremony. It was held at Icecream Factory in Northbridge, one of the Fringe World locations. For those who don’t know, Fringe World is a yearly arts festival which runs for a month in Perth. It showcases dance, cabaret, comedy, circus, musicals and theatres. From Australian famous comedians to local acts. There’s certainly something for everyone. As a volunteer photographer, I got the opportunity to go to the opening ceremony. I also got a sneak peak into the awesome and hilarious Club Swizzle. I really enjoyed La Soiree a couple of years ago, and I expect Club Swizzle to be just as entertaining since it’s also by the same creators.
Open House Perth 2017, Part III
After lunch at Satchmo, we continued on checking out some residentials. First up was the Triangle House in Mt Lawley. I remember seeing it on the news many years ago when Open House first started up in Perth and have been keen to check it out since then. It’s known as the Triangle House due to the oddly shaped block of land. The architects did a great job utilising the space to make a one bed one bath home, with a relatively large living/entertaining area.
Open House Perth 2017, Part II
We started day 2 of Open House with putting our names down for the Central Park rooftop tours, then slowly meandered our way to Northbridge for the tour of Alex Hotel. On our way, we stopped by Perth Town Hall and did a quick tour with one of the staff members. It’s a quaint little historic building that is popular for events in the city. I’m looking forward to a close friend’s wedding here in a week’s time!
