I’m once again digging Into The Archives. This post shares photos I took in August last year when a couple of friends and I were trying to locate this so called “secret garden”. If you didn’t already know, the “secret garden” is actually hidden away in the northern suburbs. This “secret garden” was all the rage on social media last year, to the point where people who knew of the location were leading others on a wild goose chase! Well the secret is definitely out now. This “secret garden” is actually Careniup Wetlands at Careninup Lake in Gwelup, City of Stirling.
Open House Perth, Part Four
This is the final part of the four part series on Open House Perth (Part One, Part Two and Part Three). HASSELL is one of Australia’s leading architectural firms and its been involved in projects like Fiona Stanley Hospital, Brookflied Place and 140 William Street.
Open House Perth, Part Three
This is part three of the Open House Perth series (Part one and part two). Today’s post shares images from a new and exciting area of Perth that is still being built, Perth City Link. If you didn’t already know, the Perth City Link project reconnect the CBD with Northbridge for the first time in 100 years. Part of this process means plenty of new buildings to work, live and play in. The project involves sinking the Fremantle rail line from Perth Station to Lake/King streets, moving Wellington Street Bus Station underground and creating multiple new connections between the CBD and Northbridge.
Open House Perth, Part Two
On the second day of Open House Perth, I made my way around Perth CBD. We made our way up P&O Building to have a view of inner city Perth. We explored Cathedral Square precinct which included the new Perth City Library and COMO Treasury (making sure to stop by for coffee at the cool little coffee stand called Telegram). We visited architectural firm Cameron Chisholm Nicol (I learned that they’re the ones who built Perth Arena) and got a cool little tour of the office from their staff. My friend wanted to try out the dessert at Honey Creme before we headed to lunch at Angel Falls Grill in Shafto Lane. It was hard to find somewhere open for lunch in the city on a Sunday! I hope you enjoy some of my favourite images from Sunday.
Open House Perth, Part One
Given that one of my “dream jobs” was to be an architect, I’ve been meaning to check out Perth Open House. Every year when Perth Open House comes around, I always seem to have other plans. This year I made an intentional effort to find out which weekend it would fall on and made sure I made time for it. If you didn’t already know, Perth Open House occurs on a weekend in November, where private spaces such as people’s houses and iconic buildings are opened up to the public to explore. This year, there were over 90 destinations on the list. Many of which were located around Perth and Northbridge. West Perth and Leederville also had some great spaces.
