After spending a day exploring Cambridge, we drove 2 hours southwest towards Oxford. The traffic on the motor way between the two cities was quite bad that evening. We didn’t make it into Oxford until quite late at night. We headed straight to a local English pub for some pub grub for dinner and called it a night.

After spending 2 weeks driving around and exploring Iceland, it was time to head back into civilisation. I didn’t capture many photos on our last day in Iceland before we flew out. We spent the day slowly driving back to Reykjavík. We checked out a couple of lesser known locations in the morning and spent the afternoon at the Blue Lagoon. Unfortunately for us, the hot water system broke down and the lines to check into the lagoon was massive. We did eventually make it in but the water was tepid in certain areas of the lagoon. I can see the appeal of the lagoon. The blue colour was very cool. But it was probably one of the most touristy activities in Iceland. This is the fifth and final post of the blog series on Open House Perth 2018. I had a great time volunteering for the event and met a bunch of interesting people who were volunteers. I really enjoyed volunteering as a photographer and shooting with the Fujifilm X-T10 and the 23mm f2 lens. Its not a normal lens that photographers would use in real estate or architectural photography. However I really approached the 2 days of photographing with an event photography approach. Capturing the people attending the event and enjoying the space. As well as capturing the beautiful architecturer and the fellow volunteers at each of the site I visited. I feel like I’ve grown and improved my skills as a photographer with two full days of photography. In addition to being able to check out some well designed and beautiful buildings around Perth.

Casa31, a uniquely designed home. The ground floor looks like a typical house with bedrooms, living space and kitchen. The upstairs is where it shines. The whole room is orange and the upper deck has a lovely balcony to relax on.
Open House Perth 2018, Part III
On the second day of Open House Perth, I focused on zooming around the inner city suburbs of Perth. I photographed some of the most popular residential destinations. I really got to practice my architectural photography. In addition I limited myself to shooting with only the 23mm f2 lens.
