We flew into Iceland from London Heathrow. By the time we got out of the Keflavak airport with our 4WD hire car it was mid afternoon and pouring rain. It took us around 1 hour to get to the capital. The first stop we made was to the iconic Icelandic church. Hallgrímskirkja is a Lutheran church located in Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.Thankfully the rain had stopped when we got into the city.
Floating Icebergs at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon
I managed to spend a bit of time during this holiday season editing photos from my Iceland trip. I’m only about a quarter a way through my Iceland photos. So far this image of the floating icebergs at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is probably my favourite. There is sometime very peaceful about this scene. It transports me back in time. To the moment when I was photographing this scene. It was late in the afternoon and the clouds had cleared up a bit. The light was beautiful at the time. I took dozens of shots here but this I think captures the beauty of the scene well.
I like this image so much that it’s my new wallpaper on my desktop computer. I’ve edited the photo to include my word theme of the year, patience. Every time I turn on my computer, I’m reminded of patience and tranquility. Hopefully it will serve as a constant reminder throughout the year. I’m also looking forward to posting one-image blog posts with more of a background story to the image rather than long form photo essays which I have done in the past. Thanks for stopping by today.

Discovering the Margaret River Region
Margaret River region is a popular place to escape for the weekend. For those who know how large the state of Western Australia is, you’ll understanding that the 3 hour drop down south is a short trip! A weekend away in the region usually consist of good food and wine, and hiking or beaching. You really feel like you’ve left the hustle and bustle of the city behind.
Open House Perth 2017, Part III
After lunch at Satchmo, we continued on checking out some residentials. First up was the Triangle House in Mt Lawley. I remember seeing it on the news many years ago when Open House first started up in Perth and have been keen to check it out since then. It’s known as the Triangle House due to the oddly shaped block of land. The architects did a great job utilising the space to make a one bed one bath home, with a relatively large living/entertaining area.
Open House Perth 2017, Part II
We started day 2 of Open House with putting our names down for the Central Park rooftop tours, then slowly meandered our way to Northbridge for the tour of Alex Hotel. On our way, we stopped by Perth Town Hall and did a quick tour with one of the staff members. It’s a quaint little historic building that is popular for events in the city. I’m looking forward to a close friend’s wedding here in a week’s time!
