The Sydney Opera House is spectacular from afar or close up. It’s a remarkable landmark. If we had more time I definitely would have done the Opera House tour. The Opera House was conceptualised in the 1950s and completed in the 1970s. It was Australia’s most iconic building and number one tourist destination. We walked from Circular Quay, along the foreshore, all the way to the Opera House. As expected the walk was full of tourists. Being late in the afternoon, the light was beautiful and golden.
State Library of NSW and it’s surrounds
After exploring Martin Place, we continued exploring the rest of Sydney’s CBD. One of my favourite finds was the Public Library Of New South Wales. There is a new and old section of the library and also a few exhibition galleries within the library. We spent a bit of time exploring the place, from the modern Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room to the grand Mitchell Library Reading Room.
For lunch we were craving Dimsum. Place Chinese Restaurant was listed as one of the top place for dimsum in the CBD. It was pack full of office workers on their lunch break. Dimsum was definitely a nice change in cuisine.
After lunch, we spent more time exploring the CBD, walking all the way to Circular Quay.
Next up is the iconic Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay. I was snap happy taking photos of the Opera House, it’s truly a remarkable landmark. Thanks for stopping by today.

Exploring Sydney’s Martin Place
Martin Place in Sydney is the heart of the central business district in Sydney. It’s surrounded by landmarks such as General Post Office at 1 Martin Place, the Reserve Bank of Australia and museum, as well as other luxury brand stores. We started our day with breakfast at Reuben Hills in Surry Hills. It was one of my favourite places for breakfast. I settled on the Huevos Divorciados (as recommended by staff as one of the most popular dishes). It consisted of a soft fried egg on top of red and green salsa, charro beans, smoked tetilla on a tostada. I forwent my usual espresso coffee and settle for a filter coffee instead.
Walking from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach
This is the third and final photo essay on my Sydney beaches and bays series. Bondi beach in Sydney has got to be Sydney’s most famous and iconic beach. I live in the west coast of Australia where there are plenty of beautiful and untouched beaches all along the coast. I was still thought Bondi is a beautiful beach. By the time we arrived by bus from Watson Bay, it was after 4pm in the afternoon. The golden hour light is a great time to take photo. We spent a bit of time walking along the beach and checking out the graffiti art scattered along the walls.
Exploring Watson Bay
This is part two of the Sydney beaches series. After spending the morning at Manly, we took a ferry from Manly Wharf to Watson Bay. Watson Bay is known for stunning harbour views, gorgeous beaches and the popular fish and chips shop, Doyles on the Beach. By the time we arrived at Watson Bay, it was lunch time and the perfect time to have some take away fish and chips at Doyle’s Fisherman’s Wharf Cafe. The fish, calamari, prawns and scallop were fresh and tasty. It was a quick and cheap meal that would recommend people to try if you’re visiting Watson Bay.
