For Father’s day last year in September, we spent a day in Perth Hills with the family. We kicked off our day at Masonmills Garden and Restaurant. We enjoyed the autumn sunshine while we had lunch outdoors. After lunch we walked around the gardens. We were greeted with an amazing bloom of cherry blossoms around the gardens. After lunch we enjoyed a late afternoon snack and drink at Core Cider House to finish off our day.

Over the Easter Long weekend back in early April, I went on my first proper photowalk in 2021 with my Fujifilm X-T4 camera with the Fujifilm 23mm f2 lens. It was the first time I was using The X-T4 for full on a casual walk. So far I’ve only used the X-T4 for client work and just haven’t had much free time this year to just do photography for fun. This blog post is a bit different to my previous ones. Like many people around the around, 2020 was a year of very little travel. We were fortunate in Western Australia to relatively low levels of COVID-19 cases and life for the second half of 2020 was relatively normal. It doesn’t seat many people however you won’t need to wait long for your ramen as the service is quick and people tend to be in and out of there quickly. They’re only open on Fridays to Sundays, so it’s definitely a weekend kind of activity.
A few weekends ago we were in Fremantle and decided to try it for ourselves. I love trying the “original” ramen when I’m trying a new joint for the first time. It was hearty and hot bowl of soup, very comforting for what was a chilly spring day.
I was out with my favourite lens, the Fujinon 35mm f1.4, and managed to capture some straight out of camera images using my Fujifilm X-T10. The base film simulation was classic chrome.
