The weather was beautiful and sunny the weekend that just passed. I can’t remember the last time we had great weekend weather. My friends and I made good use of the weather and drove out to Ellis Brook Reserve. Ellis Brook Reserve is located in Gosnells, 30 minutes away from Perth city by car.
There are four different walking trails at Ellis Brook Reserve. After reading Life of Py’s post on Ellis Brook Reserve, we decided to walk the most popular trail which is Sixty Foot Falls trail. The walk is a 2km loop trail that starts at the end of Rushton Road at the information gazebo. It is mostly an uphill climb to the top of Sixty Foot Falls, where the view at the top is pretty awesome. You get a great view of Perth city in the distance as well as views of the valley below as you walk up towards the top of the falls.
As part of the loop trail, you would also pass the Old Barrington Quarry.
As it has been raining the last few weeks, we saw a decent amount of water at the falls. We even saw some colourful flowers along the way on our walk, marking the end of winter and beginning of Spring. I suspect it would be a pretty popular walk during Spring time as it’s known to come alive with wildflowers.
For anyone who wants an easy hike/walk on a beautiful day, Ellis Brook is certainly a place to check out. The other walking trails are suppose to be easy, short and quite flat.
Thanks for stopping by today.
