I was fortunate enough to try out Fujifilm Fujinon XF 50mm f/2 for one week my trip to Malaysia back in June thanks to Fujifilm Australia. It was the perfect lens for my trip to Malaysia since I was actually going to my cousin’s wedding. Throughout the week I had the opportunity to photograph food, people and places. When I was using a Canon DSLR, I loved photographing with the 50mm f/1.4 especially for portraiture, so I was really looking forward to trying the 50mm focal length again since I’ve contemplated getting a portrait lens as my next lens. This lens certainly did not disappoint. In the next two blog posts, I’ll be sharing some of the photographs showcasing the images produced by this lens.
This is by no means a lens review, but I would like to just say the build quality is really good for such a small and relatively cheap lens. Fully metal construction. Really good aperture clicks. Weather sealed. Fast focusing. Lightweight yet solid. It’s an absolute baby of a lens. Attached to my Fujifilm X-T10, it’s the perfect nimble and portable body/lens combination for travel. I’ll leave you to judge the image quality, but I am totally happy with it. The background falls away easily while remaining sharp where it’s focused on.
Thanks for stopping by today.
