As we headed towards the Westfjords of Iceland, stopped by a popular tourist stop, Glaumbaer Museum, where were were several well maintained farmhouses on display. These grass-roofed farmhouses represented the way of life of the Icelandic settlements in Skagafjordur a long time ago. I really enjoyed photographing the quaint colourful buildings.
Above is a nearby tiny church called Víðimýrarkirkja church. It is one of Iceland’s very few turf churches to have been preserved. While the church is currently still in used, it was closed on the day we were there so we didn’t get to check out the tiny interior.
Thanks for stopping by today.
