This is my fourth and final blog post in the Open House Perth 2019 series. It highlights a few remaining locations that I enjoyed visiting and photographing. I had to be more selective in which locations I photographed and visited this year as I had less time on my hands. But I found I was more intentional in what images I captured and my images were more refined than last year. I also found I was more selective on which images I thought were keepers and refined my editing further.
I actually really enjoyed capturing people enjoying the spaces and event, as well as the space themselves. Using the X100F with the 23mm focal lengths was great (that was the focal length I used last year). It was small, light, quiet and nimble. Loved using it for the event. The Fujifilm X-T10 and 14mm f2.8 gave me the wide angle for interior photography that I was looking for, so it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Photographing for the event helped reaffirm my interest in architectural and interior photography, but more specifically I enjoyed telling the story of the space, photographing people enjoying the space itself. I guess this is perhaps a more editorial approach rather than the straight and traditional architectural photography.
Thanks for stopping by today.

I am not familiar with this open house concept in Australia. In the USA , is when a seller opens their home to potential buyers. Photography is not allowed.

Hi khurt. Open house Perth is actually just an event name for an event where popular buildings and architects and builders will put on show the buildings and homes that are typically private or not available to the public for 1-2 days. The idea is to showcase good or interesting building design to the public.
