On my way to the Art Gallery of Western Australia last weekend, my friend and I stumbled upon a neat little cafe called Eillo. This gorgeous narrow little coffee house opened up along William St in Northbridge earlier this year. As we only had time for coffee, we didn’t get to try any of the delicious looking pastries in on display (Cruffin, a croissant and a muffin!) nor any of the toasties on the menu. The coffee used by Eillo is from Perth’s own Micrology Coffee Roasters.
Celebrating Chinese New Year, the year of the Monkey
In the coming months, I’ll be digging into my archive of images and sharing images that haven’t see the light of day. I’m kicking off the Into The Archives series with some of my favourite photos from my family trip to Malaysia for Chinese New Year earlier this year.
Breakfast at Satchmo Cafe, North Perth
Satchmo Cafe is a little hidden gem in North Perth. It’s been on my to-eat list for a little while now but I didn’t have an excuse to check it out until the Sunday just past. As my friend and I had separate commitments after mid morning, we decided on an early breakfast catch up before the Sunday brunch crowd hit. If I wasn’t looking for the cafe, I would have easily missed it! Given it was early in the morning, there were plenty of parking spots out the front which is a lovely bonus.
Thoughts on shopping from an emerging minimalist
Shopping and minimalism. You’re probably thinking, these two concepts must be polar opposite. Being a minimalist must mean not shopping for new things ever. I’ve never been one to subscribe to the notion of retail therapy. If I have to classify myself, I’m someone who is an intentional shopper. I not someone who finds joy in the act of shopping or window shopping. Generally speaking, I only shop if I have something I’m looking to buy and it’ll often be for a purpose.
Tulips in full bloom at Araluen Botanic Gardens
From never having been to Araluen Botanic Gardens, I’ve been twice this year. The first time was during the summer months when a friend and photographer came to visit Perth. The second time was more recently in spring, when the tulips were in bloom.
