In Australia, Qantas being the main national carrier, has one of the most extensive airport lounge networks in Australia. This post is a bit different to my normal photography writing and content I normally share on here. This experiential review of the Qantas Domestic Business Lounge in Perth falls more in the travel and travel experiences wheelhouse. I will probably start to share more of these type of posts now that the travelling has opened up more. This is by no means a comprehensive lounge review as there are plenty of travel hack and lounge blogs out there whose primary purpose is on that topic. My approach like most of my reviews are based around my thoughts, experiences and sharing my photography along the way.

A couple of weekends ago we re-started our Fuji X Aus Perth meetup events after a long hiatus due to you-know-what. It was awesome to get out and about again, walking the streets again with fellow photographers. We decided to kick off our first photo walk at Fremantle with some street photography. Four of us fuji shooters met up at a local coffee shop for coffee and chats in the West End.

Last weekend was a long weekend for us West Aussies to mark WA Day. A few friends and I decided to head out for a hike to kick off our long weekend.
Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Avon Valley, about an hour’s drive north east of Perth. It’s only open during the cooler months, autumn through to spring. It’s a privately owned and managed parkland that is well maintained and the walking trails are easy to follow. There are 3 hiking trail loops you can walk on depending on how far you want to walk. There’s a $10 entry fee per person and you have to book in advance to ensure you snag a spot as they only allow a limited number of hikers into the sanctuary each day.

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to try something different for date night. We joined in on the William Street Long Lunch event in Northbridge.
As I wanted a camera setup that was small and lightweight to carry for our walk around Northbridge for the William Street Long Lunch event, I decided to bring an oldie along. It’s been a long while since I picked up and photographed with my Fujifilm X-T10 and even longer since I shot with my Fujinon 27mm f2.8 lens. Ever since the Fujifilm X-T4 entered my life, the little Fujifilm X-T10 hasn’t been shown much love. The 27mm mark I is one of the first Fujinon lenses I owned, and since procuring other “optically better” and newer lens, I also haven’t gone back to the 27mm in a long while.

On Easter Saturday, I went for a hike with a friend in Kalamunda National Park. We were looking for a relatively short hike given we both haven’t been hiking in a long while. We did some research on TrailsWA and Life of Pye (our go to hiking resource if you live in WA) to find a suitable hike and settled on Helena Pipehead Walk. It’s a relatively easy 5.3km loop. One of the things I enjoy about hiking is that almost everyone you meet on your hike will say hi or have a friendly chat. It was the same when I was in New Zealand and in Tasmania.
