Our final day in Denmark started off rainy and stormy, but it didn’t stop us from making the most of the weekend before we all headed back to the hustle and bustle of city life. We started out the day with warm and tasty pies from the award winning Denmark Bakery in town. Despite the weather there were plenty of people (locals mostly) coming and going through the Bakery. They have a massive selection of pies, pastries and breads.
After breakfast, we drove to Walpole’s Valley of the Giants for the Tree Top walk and walk through the ancient empire of giant red tingle trees. For the most part the weather held up throughout our walk with the occasional drizzle of rain.
Following our walk through the forrest, we took shelter at Mrs Jones for a light lunch in Denmark town, before our long drive back to civilisation.
I am one who appreciates experiences over physical objects when it comes to presents. Clearly my friends know me well. I will forever be grateful for such a well thought out birthday present from friends who I have known for over a decade.
