There are two Star Alliance business class lounges at Sydney Airport—Air New Zealand International Lounge and Singapore Airline SilverKris Lounge.
When we flew United Polaris business class from Sydney to Las Angeles for our move to the USA, we got the chance to check out both lounges.
Today, I want to talk about our experience and first impressions of the Singapore Airline SilverKris Lounge
The lounge is located on level 3, along side a lot of the other airline lounges. It was easy to find following the signage.
The counter staff were friendly and professional (as you would expect of Singapore Airlines).
You also had a decent view of the runway. The morning we were there we would see American Airlines and United Airlines on the tarmac from the lounge.
Lounge Layout and Seating
We arrived in Sydney’s domestic terminal at 6am in the morning and the first lounge we decided to check out the the SilverKris Lounge.
At that time of the day when we visited, it was pretty quiet.
The lounge was relatively small, but comfortable with plenty of seating. They had a mix of lounge chair, solo workpod seats with more privacy and dining table seating.
The elegant and regal design of the lounge was quite typical of Singapore Airlines.
We visited the lounge in August 2023. Since then Singapore Airlines has updated the furniture and fittings, modernising the look and feel of the lounge. They also removed the barista cart and replaced it with a permanent coffee bar.
Food and Beverage in the Lounge
Singapore is known as a food mecca in Asia.
The lounge really put on a great breakfast spread. From your classic continental breakfast items, pastries, cereal and so forth. To more classic Singaporean/Asian dishes like congee, dimsum and nasi lemak.
It was so good!
If only we had more time to try more of the dishes on offer.
In typical business class lounge style, the food was buffet style.
The food service area was fairly small but they packed a lot of food options in that small space.
They also had a little barista corner where you could order a coffee or take it to go.
I was a little surprised to see spirits available for self pour at 6am in the morning though!
Accessing the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Business Class Lounge in Sydney
You can access the lounge if you’re flying in business class on Singapore Airline or Star Alliance Partners like United Airline. That’s how we accessed the lounge.
If you’re not flying in business class, you can also access the lounge if you have gold level status on Singapore Airlines, Star Alliance partners or Virgin Australia Velocity program.
Making Travel Planning Easier (Free Template in Notion)
One of our goals of moving to the US from Australia is to take the opportunity to travel and explore more of the US. That means being organised and intentional about locking in travel dates ahead of time so the trips actually happens.
There is a lot to juggling when travel planning—itinerary, accommodation, flight options, things to do, recommended food and drink places etc.
It’s just not possible to track all of that in my head!
I’m a big Notion fan and I use that to plan and track all our trips. I also use it for other things like meal planning, tracking my tasks and projects, and keeping track of my camera gear etc.
Notion is free to use, hyper customisable and saves you time by giving you the ability to templatise things you do often.

Final Thoughts on Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge in Sydney
We thoroughly enjoyed the 30 minutes or so we spend in the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge in Sydney. I wish we had more time to spend at this lounge.
In particular we really enjoyed the spread of food at the lounge.
If you get an opportunity to visit this lounge when flying through Sydney, it’s a must.
Until next time, happy travelling!
