I have previously blogged about the Margaret River region in the south west of Western Australia. Once it was a short weekend trip and another time it was for the Fuji X Aus landscape photography workshop. This time, I’ll be sharing more images from a family trip down to the south west region from a little while back. We were graced with perfect weather for the 3 days we were away.
We began the drive down to Dunsborough on a Friday morning. We dropped by the award winning Miami Bakehouse down in Falcon for some gourmet pies for breakfast. There had a long list of pies to choose from, including many classics. We got back onto the road for the next few hours and headed straight to the Cheeky Monkey Brewery for some lunch. For a Friday, the restaurant was jammed packed, it was a good thing we booked. While waiting for our food to arrive, we also walked about the herb/produce garden just next to the restaurant.
With a food stomach, we proceeded to drive to our holiday rental in Dunsborough. It was a modern little 3 bedroom house with all the amenities you’ll need for a comfortable weekend away.
After a bit of a rest, we drove out to to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse area to do a short hike late in the afternoon. The walking path was well marked and very easy to follow. The best things about this walk is how scenic is is! You get the best coastal views of the south west.
As it was still fairly early in the afternoon after we finished our hike, we decided to go to the nearby famous Sugar Loaf Rock to enjoy the sunset. It’s a popular spot for photographers to shoot sunrises and sunsets. Since I was there with family, I was focused on enjoying the sunset and taking some family snaps. As there were a few shots to share, I’ll save that for next time. Thanks for stopping by today!
